Without greater visibility, even the most worthy missions can struggle to attract the volunteers, partners, funding, and community support they need to grow and thrive.

For many veterans, the desire to serve does not end with military service. Yet finding meaningful opportunities to put their leadership, experience, and commitment to work can be challenging. Mission Plus helps connect veterans with opportunities to continue serving and making a difference in the communities around them.
Families Seeking to Honor a Loved One
Families grieving the loss of a veteran want to honor their loved one’s life and service in a meaningful way. Paperwork and bureaucracy at an already difficult time can often make the process harder than it should be. Through Flags of Honor, Mission Plus helps families create tributes that honor, respect, and remember their beloved family veteran.

Meet The Founder
Founder, Mission Plus
Mission Plus was founded by Jim Wells, a retired international marketing executive and Marine Corps officer whose faith, commitment to service, and passion for storytelling, leadership, and community inspired the vision behind the organization.
Two decades ago, Jim started Missional Messaging to help faith-based, veteran, and other mission-driven organizations tell their stories more effectively. He saw organizations doing extraordinary work in their communities, but too often telling their stories primarily
to people who already knew them. Helping those organizations reach the wider community represented an opportunity to increase awareness, attract support, and strengthen their missions.
In 2026, after learning that some veterans were being laid to rest without military honors because their families could not locate the necessary military records, Jim established Flags of Honor to help ensure that local families could honor their loved ones with the dignity and respect their service deserved.
Mission Plus brings these efforts together under a broader mission—helping mission-driven organizations become stronger, helping families honor the veterans they love, and creating meaningful opportunities for veterans to continue serving their communities.
Under Jim’s leadership, Mission Plus continues to develop initiatives that put service into action and help build stronger communities.

Primary Services
Burial & Memorial Flags

- All-cotton ceremonial American flags for caskets or urns
- Retired, unserviceable American flags for burial or cremation with veteran
- Provided at no cost to families.
Memorial Keepsakes

- Flag star memorials cut from retired U.S. flags and customizable for the veteran. (additional cost)
Secondary / Support Services
- Military Records Assistance
- Helping families requesting DD-214 and other service records and veteran benefits.
- Ceremonial Support
- Optional on-site flag-folding ceremonies at interment, subject to volunteer availability.
